Gary Light is the principal of the firm. He
graduated with Honors from Northwestern University in 1989, obtaining
a Bachelor of Arts degree. After working for several years as a
consultant with one of the leading firms in downtown Chicago, Gary
Light entered Chicago-Kent College of Law, from which he graduated
in a 1995 with a degree of Juris Doctor and Certificate in International
and Comparative Law. After practicing with major British and American
international law firms in Europe, Russia and Ukraine, in 1999 he
returned to Chicago, where he continued providing legal consulting
services to international corporate clients, frequently traveling
abroad. Simultaneously, Mr. Light accepted an of counsel legal consulting
position with a renowned Chicago transactional firm. In 2002, he
established The Law Office of Gary Light, PC. The attorney's practice
focuses on various issues in immigration, corporate planning and
formation, capture and protection of intellectual property rights,
family law, will, residential and commercial real estate. His clients
range from individuals and entrepreneurs to privately held small
and medium size corporations.
Gary Light's experience also includes work in a variety of
business transactions including public and private offerings of
equity securities, mergers and acquisitions. He is fluent in Russian
and Ukrainian and representing a number of Western companies and
private investors in the former Soviet Union, as well as Russian
and Ukrainian companies in their activities in the United States.
Gary Light is admitted to practice law in Illinois. He is
a member of Chicago and Illinois Bar Associations, Chicago Council
on Foreign Relations, as well as Russian Association of International
Law.
